MY STORY

1. WHERE I STARTED

"My hockey journey started by learning how to skate on frozen lakes and outdoors rinks in Minnesota. I found a passion for hockey early in life and began playing organized hockey at five years old in the White Bear Lake cubs program. My family moved the next year and I spent the rest of my youth hockey years in the Blaine Youth Hockey Association. During this time my love for hockey continued to grow as I played for great coaches and alongside great teammates. I am now a sophomore at Blaine High School and anticipate playing for the Blaine High School program in the Minnesota State High School League this winter."

2. CHALLENGES I'VE FACED

"I have overcome several challenges throughout my hockey career. Hockey is highly competitive in Minnesota, and I had to develop a very strong work ethic and development focus in order to thrive in this sport. I also dealt with the occasional injury throughout my time in hockey which could have lead to longer-term setbacks, but I used them as an opportunity refocus and become stronger."

3. WHAT DRIVES ME

"I think my biggest motivator is myself. I've always been my hardest critic and naturally competitive, and I use this mindset to push my own expectations and performance standards. I also find motivation through surrounding myself with friends and teammates that are very successful in hockey. I often find myself using the people around me as benchmarks for where I should be and where I want to be."

4. WHERE I'M HEADED

"My main long-term goal is to play college hockey. I want to push myself to develop as a person, student and hockey player in order to be considered by Division I hockey schools, but I am open to all options for continuing to play beyond high school and junior hockey. My short-term goal is to make the Blaine High School varsity team and to prove myself as a valuable player and teammate throughout the season.”

5. GOOD TO KNOW

β€œI want coaches to know that I'm hard-working and open to their development feedback and direction. I have a passion for hockey and I'm a valuable addition to any team as both a player and a teammate.”
