MY STORY
1. WHERE I STARTED
"My hockey journey started at the age of 3 at Pleasant Arena in St. Paul where I learned to skate. I then continued my development with countless hours on the ice at Minnesota Made. I am now starting my high school career at Holy Family Catholic High School, a Class AA program in the State of Minnesota."
2. CHALLENGES I'VE FACED
"My biggest challenge I've faced throughout my hockey career was early on in my journey. At about 7 years old I was hit by a car which set me back for months with internal injuries and soft tissue damage."
3. WHAT DRIVES ME
"I've been doubted throughout my entire hockey career because I am an undersized defenseman. Every time I'm on the ice I'm motivated to become the best hockey player and person I can be. My drive and passion comes from my love of the game and proving people wrong."
4. WHERE I'M HEADED
"My short-term goal is to play varsity hockey as a freshman at Holy Family Catholic High School. My long-term goal is to play Juniors and Division I hockey."
5. GOOD TO KNOW
"I will always be the hardest working player on the ice whether it's a practice, workout, or a game. I pride myself on being a great teammate and great person."

TESTIMONIALS
"Emerson is a dynamic two way defenseman. He is able to use his high end skating ability and agility to quickly close time and space from opponents and create turnovers. Offensively, Emerson uses his hockey IQ and vision to make a great first pass and make all of his teammates better. He is a threat every shift to create scoring chances for his team by opening up shooting lanes for himself or making great passes to open teammates in the offensive zone. Emerson has outstanding character and will be a leader on any team that he plays for. He has an extremely impressive work ethic and character. Everything that Emerson does he will give 110% effort towards."
— Nick Mattson, Director of Hockey Operations, Breakaway Academy
"I have known Emerson as a student-athlete for over 3 years. During that time, Emerson always gave it his best, was an outstanding teammate, and pushed himself to learn in the classroom. Emerson participated in many activities while attending Breakaway Academy. He participated in Chess Club, Speech Club, and Service-Learning Projects. Emerson is dedicated, hard-working, and a pleasure to work with. Emerson has always been respectful and very cooperative. The combination of hard work and honesty will allow Emerson to be very successful in life. Emerson is consistently working to better his hockey game. His quickness allows him to be mobile and shifty. Emerson see's the ice so he can make quick outlet passes to his teammates and join the rush. Emerson is coachable so he will work hard to execute the game plan to whatever his coach is asking. Emerson is well liked on the rink, in the classroom, and the community. He is very easy to get along with and has a great attitude. I give Emerson my highest recommendation."
— Dave Snuggerud, Director of Education, Breakaway Academy
"Emerson represents everything you want in a young defenseman—intelligence, work ethic, and an unbreakable spirit. Despite facing significant adversity early in his career, including a serious car accident, he's shown incredible resilience and determination. His skating ability and hockey IQ allow him to impact the game at both ends of the ice. What really sets Emerson apart is his character and drive to prove doubters wrong. He's undersized but plays much bigger than his frame suggests. Combined with his perfect 4.0 GPA and multiple High Performance selections, he's exactly the type of student-athlete that will thrive at the next level."
